Our client, a leader in Financial and Tax Software, is looking for someone to join their team as a Data Engineer in Mountain View, CA.
This is a W2 contract budgeted until July 31, 2027
What You Will Be Doing
- Perform advanced business and product analytics using statistical analysis, predictive modeling, data mining, and experimentation.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to identify analytical needs and translate business questions into data-driven solutions.
- Develop actionable insights and recommendations based on customer behavior, industry trends, and market factors.
- Design and interpret complex experiments beyond traditional A/B testing.
- Apply causal inference techniques such as propensity score matching, difference-in-differences, and synthetic control methods.
- Build scalable, reusable analytics solutions that improve efficiency and reduce duplicated work.
- Leverage Generative AI and emerging technologies to accelerate insights from multi-modal data.
- Create ad hoc analyses, reports, and visualizations to support business decision-making.
- Help develop and improve systems used to capture and analyze business operations data.
- Collaborate cross-functionally and communicate findings to influence key business decisions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in data science or product analytics, preferably within fintech.
- Experience with Claude
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Advanced SQL skills.
- Strong Python skills, including experience with NumPy, Pandas, and Scikit-learn.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlik, QuickSight, Plotly, or Dash.
- Strong background in predictive modeling, customer segmentation, and experimentation.
- Hands-on experience with causal inference methodologies.
- Ability to formulate data-backed strategies that drive meaningful business growth and customer value.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, adapt to evolving technologies, and influence decision-makers.
