The role
We are seeking a Lecturer in Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence (Part-time) to join the academic team at our Hamburg campus. You will teach across our computing and AI provision, contribute to assessment design and quality assurance, and support students through to successful completion of their studies.
This is a teaching-focused post with scope for curriculum development. Candidates who combine academic credentials with genuine industry practice are particularly encouraged to apply — our students expect to graduate employable, and our teaching reflects that.
Teaching and learning
- Plan and deliver lectures, seminars, laboratory sessions and tutorials at undergraduate and postgraduate level
- Prepare high-quality teaching materials, module handbooks, reading lists and lab exercises
- Maintain and develop module content on Moodle; deliver synchronous online sessions where scheduled
- Adapt teaching methods to a multilingual, international cohort with varied prior technical backgrounds
Essential criteria
- A Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering or a closely related discipline (a doctorate is strongly preferred and required for teaching at Master's level)
- Demonstrable teaching experience in higher education, or substantial professional experience combined with a clear aptitude for teaching
Desirable criteria
- PhD and/or an active record of research and publication
- Industry experience in software development, data engineering, MLOps or applied AI
