We are supporting a major enterprise modernisation programme and are looking for an AI Engineer / GenAI Engineer to help define and deliver the next phase of the organisation’s AI capabilities.
This role sits at the intersection of Generative AI, RAG, AI agents, software engineering, and enterprise AI architecture, and is well-suited to someone who enjoys building PoCs and MVPs, creating reusable AI components, and integrating AI solutions into large-scale enterprise environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of Generative AI solutions, including RAG architectures, AI agents, and LLM-powered applications.
- Develop PoCs, MVPs, and reusable AI components that can be scaled into production solutions.
- Build and integrate RAG pipelines, including embeddings, vector search, retrieval, and knowledge-based AI applications.
- Design and develop AI agents and agentic workflows for enterprise use cases.
- Integrate AI solutions with existing enterprise systems, APIs, and cloud platforms.
- Work with Azure OpenAI and other LLM platforms to develop secure and scalable AI applications.
- Support Responsible AI, security, governance, and LLMOps practices across the AI Centre of Excellence.
- Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to productionise AI solutions.
- Establish reusable development patterns, technical standards, and best practices for enterprise AI.
- Provide technical guidance, run workshops, and support knowledge transfer across the wider AI CoE.
Experience Required
- Strong hands-on experience delivering Generative AI / LLM solutions within enterprise environments.
- Solid software engineering background with strong Python development skills.
- Proven experience designing and implementing RAG architectures, including vector search, embeddings, retrieval, and prompt engineering.
- Practical experience building AI agents / agentic AI solutions and integrating LLMs with enterprise systems.
- Strong experience with Azure OpenAI or comparable LLM platforms.
- Experience developing cloud-based AI applications and integrations, preferably within Azure.
- Understanding of LLMOps, Responsible AI, AI security, governance, and productionisation.
- Experience working with Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, Semantic Kernel, LangChain, or LangGraph is highly desirable.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Copilot extensions is an advantage.
- Comfortable working in large-scale programmes with multiple technical teams and senior stakeholders.
