About the Role
As our engineering team expands, we are looking for fresh graduates/junior software engineers with 1- 3 years of relevant experience who are interested in delving into the world of quantum computing as a Software Engineer in our team.
The role involves software and firmware development for our existing and future quantum control hardware. Candidates should be comfortable learning new technologies, reading technical documentation and working closely with engineers from different disciplines.
Responsibilities
- The job entails developing software for our existing and upcoming/future quantum control hardware.
- Collaborative work mindset is expected as the job requires constant collaboration with other team members of different disciplines.
- There will be a lot of reading of technical specifications and component datasheets during the development hence being comfortable with such documents is important during the course of development.
- Maintenance of existing firmware/software stacks and design documentation.
- Occasionally, development and debugging of code written in Python may be required.
- Optimize or refactor existing designs as part of continuous improvement (Kaizen).
Job Requirements
- Fresh graduates and candidates with 1 to 3 years of relevant experience are welcome to apply.
- Experience in C and C++ programming. A good grasp of the languages from coursework is acceptable for fresh graduates.
- Basic understanding of software configuration management processes.
- Basic understanding and use of version control tools such as Git or Subversion.
- Basic understanding of firmware development in Linux and/or RTOS.
- Basic understanding and use of test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
- Familiarity with code documentation tools such as Doxygen or equivalent.
- Basic grasp of data structures and design patterns.
- Basic understanding of quantum computing and trends in software design and practices is advantageous but not mandatory.
Skills you'll gain from the position
- Embedded software development and testing.
- Development experience with other programming or scripting languages such as Python.
- Reading and interpreting technical documents and datasheets and translating them into software designs and implementations.
- Good understanding of SDLC.
- Good understanding of AQSolotl's products and quantum computing basics.
- Technical report and specification writing.
