This is a chance to lead a high-performing data engineering team working on a modern, cloud-based analytics platform used by a global customer base. You’ll take ownership of delivery across a critical product area, balancing innovation with stability while operating at meaningful scale.

You’ll be joining a global, fast-growing, product-led SaaS environment that is actively embedding AI into how software is built and delivered. The role offers real scope to influence engineering practices, uplift team capability, and shape how data powers product and business outcomes.

Salary: $190k-$200k + Super + Stock Options

Location: Melbourne or Sydney

Hybrid: 2-3 days/week in office

What You’ll Do

- Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing team of data engineers

- Own delivery across a modern data platform in a Scrum environment

- Partner with Product and Design to turn goals into clear execution plans

- Balance feature delivery, platform improvements, and technical debt

- Drive engineering quality across code, testing, and system design

- Improve reliability, scalability, and observability of data systems

- Embed AI-assisted tooling to improve productivity and outcomes

- Collaborate across teams and communicate clearly in a distributed environment

What You’ll Bring

- Background as a Senior Data or Analytics Engineer before moving into leadership

- 2+ years in Engineering or Data team management

- Proven ability to improve delivery quality and speed through technical and process change

- Strong experience with distributed systems and data at scale

- Hands-on understanding of modern data platforms (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake)

- Experience planning and delivering in Agile/Scrum environments

- Strong communication skills across global, distributed teams

- Exposure to large-scale data platform or cloud migration projects

- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
