SENIOR TECHNICAL ARCHITECT – ECOMMERCE
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Technical Architect, E-Commerce, will be responsible for identifying, defining, and driving strategic technical direction and best practices across the delivery and operations of our Omnichannel platforms and integrations. This individual functions as a trusted IT advisor across multiple disciplines, including (but not limited to) research, use case definition, data design and governance, user experience, application design, tooling, prototyping, integration/APIs, environment/workload management, quality, sizing and scaling, orchestration, monitoring, diagnostics, high availability/continuity, documentation, change control, release management, and mentoring other technical resources.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
· Establish and maintain subject matter expertise of omnichannel platforms and their business/information/technical architectures
· Collaborate with business and IT leadership/influencers to understand core needs and strategic direction, and ultimately align with mission/vision/values/goals.
· Collaborate with architects and other technical thought leadership to align on principles, patterns, standards, and their communication to the broader IT audience.
· Lead or participate in architectural spikes
· Provide analysis, expertise, perspective, and recommendations regarding potential technology acquisitions
· Lead full-stack platform and integration design efforts relative to security, performance, scalability, resilience, extensibility, and enterprise best practices.
· Identify and drive optimization in areas of cross-domain impact, risk, performance, inability to scale, inconsistency, excessive complexity, or relevant technical debt
· Drive adoption to and continuous improvement with DevSecOps principles (environment automation and CI/CD)
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
· 5+ years as an architect or technical lead over an enterprise-class eCommerce platform
· Expertise in delivering experiences for multiple countries, languages, currencies, and brands
· Expertise in responsive application development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and UI/MVC frameworks
· Expertise with RESTful APIs and GraphQL
· Expertise interacting with both relational and unstructured data repositories (ex: MySQL, MongoDB, data lakes)
· Expertise in troubleshooting and optimizing data, application, and integration performance (ex: caching, tracing, monitoring, and logging)
· Experience working with identity management and application security/authentication frameworks
· Experience leveraging content delivery networks (ex: Cloudflare, Imperva, Akamai)
· Experience integrating with enterprise business platforms (ex: CRM/ERP/WMS)
· Experience deploying and managing assets in cloud-hosted runtime environments using CI/CD principles and automation
· Experience with message-based pub/sub integration architectures
· Ability to estimate work effort/complexity/cost with predictable accuracy
· Ability to foster collaborative relationships through clear, frequent, and credible communication using the appropriate media and levels of detail for the situation
