Job Purpose: Application Development Engineer
Job Background/context:
We are actively seeking a highly experienced and strategic Lead Automation QA Engineer with 7-9 years of experience, specializing in Selenium-based test automation, to lead our quality assurance initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining automation strategies, leading a team of QA engineers, and overseeing the design, development, and execution of comprehensive automated test frameworks and suites. This role demands advanced expertise in test automation, a deep understanding of software development and quality assurance processes, and proven leadership skills to drive the continuous improvement of our software quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define, implement, and champion the overall test automation strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with project goals and organizational objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Automation QA Engineers, providing technical guidance, performance feedback, and fostering professional growth.
- Architect, design, and evolve robust, scalable, and maintainable test automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver, primarily with Java.
- Oversee the development, execution, and analysis of automated test suites across various environments and application layers.
- Collaborate closely with development, product management, and DevOps teams to integrate automation into the CI/CD pipeline, promoting continuous testing, delivery, and feedback loops.
- Drive the adoption of best practices, coding standards, and innovative solutions within the QA automation team.
- Conduct complex root cause analysis of defects, provide insights to development teams, and ensure effective defect management processes.
- Evaluate and recommend new testing tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance test coverage, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Contribute to high-level architectural discussions and provide critical input from a quality assurance perspective.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage, including functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing where applicable.
- Manage and prioritize testing activities, resource allocation, and project timelines within the automation module/team.
