I’m working with a 50-person, YC-backed AI company that is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help build the core platform behind millions of automated customer conversations.
This is not a narrow frontend or backend role.
You will own work across:
- React and TypeScript product interfaces
- Node.js or Python services and APIs
- AI prompt and workflow orchestration
- Telephony and third-party integrations
- Analytics, monitoring and production debugging
- Customer onboarding and product iteration
The engineering team works directly with founders and customers. You will be expected to take projects from an ambiguous problem through architecture, production release and continued improvement.
You should have:
- At least two years of professional software engineering or VC-backed startup experience
- A US bachelor’s degree in CS, CE, EE or a closely related technical discipline
- Production experience across both frontend and backend systems
- Evidence of owning meaningful features or systems
- Clear communication and comfort working directly with customers
- A genuine willingness to work fully onsite in Redwood City
This will suit an engineer who wants more scope, faster feedback and clearer ownership than a narrowly divided engineering organisation can offer.
