About the Program
At Nexal IIT, we're doing things differently. This isn't a traditional job or a standard internship—it’s an open collaboration program designed for aspiring backend developers to gain hands-on, real-world experience. If you are self-taught, a boot-camp graduate, a student, or transitioning careers, this is a space for you to write actual production code, build your portfolio, and learn by doing alongside our team.
What You’ll Do
- Build APIs & Architecture: Design, develop, and maintain robust RESTful APIs and server-side logic to power web applications.
- Manage Databases: Set up and manage databases, write efficient queries, and ensure data security and integrity.
- Debug & Optimize: Troubleshoot server-side issues, fix bugs, and optimize application performance and scalability.
- Collaborate on Code: Use Git and GitHub to manage version control, push backend updates, and participate in code reviews with the team.
Who You Are
- Passionate about backend development and eager to learn (no specific computer science degree required).
- Solid grasp of at least one server-side programming language (such as Node.js, Python, Java, or PHP).
- Familiar with the basics of relational (SQL) or non-relational (NoSQL) databases.
- Bonus points: If you have hands-on experience with backend frameworks (like Express, Django, or Spring Boot), API testing tools like Postman, or basic cloud deployment.
- Curious, driven, and comfortable asking questions.
