About WilliamFrank
WilliamFrank builds one integrated set of agentic rails a wealth team works in all day — the household record, the work that moves around it, and the advisor's judgment on top. Small product team, and the work is real from week one. There is no training program to sit through and no queue to wait in.
It helps to picture the firm as a spectrum. Advisors and planners sit with clients. Engineers build the technology. This role sits between the two and tilts toward the engineering end: you design the agents and workflows advisors work in, and then you own whether they actually work.
You will not be advising clients or managing money. This role reports to product leadership and works directly with the founder.
Every role here is AI-native. That is not a preference. If your instinct when handed a repetitive task is to do it carefully rather than to ask what could run without you, this will be a frustrating place to work.
What the job is
You own the planning and portfolio surface of the product — the household balance sheet, the plan itself, and the engine that constructs a personalized, tax-aware index for every household. You do that by specifying how the system should work, building the agent workflows behind it, and judging whether the output is right.
If you have worked as a paraplanner, an investment analyst or in portfolio implementation and found yourself building the spreadsheet that the process should have been, this is that instinct as an actual job.
What you would actually do
What we are looking for
Planning or investment literacy, plus evidence that you build things. That could be a CFP candidate or planning-program graduate who has been quietly automating their own work; a year or two in investment operations, portfolio implementation, trading or research; or a strong analytics background and real curiosity about how households actually get money right.
Comfort in spreadsheets is assumed. SQL and Python are useful. No computer science degree required — we would rather have someone who has built a lot than someone who has studied a lot.
We are evidence-based, and we treat active security selection as uncompensated risk. That is a philosophical commitment rather than a preference. If your ambition is to pick stocks, you will not enjoy this seat, and we would rather you know that now.
Where this goes
Into ownership of the planning and portfolio surface of the product. It is not an advice seat, and it is not a portfolio-manager track — we are not building a firm that picks securities.
Compensation and location
$70,000 – $105,000 depending on experience, plus equity. We are early enough that equity is a real part of the offer rather than a rounding error, and we will talk about it specifically rather than waving at it.
Full-time and in person. The office is in Lake Oswego and we are hiring across the Portland metro.
How to apply
Skip the cover letter. Send one thing you built with AI that nobody asked you to build — a tool, a workflow, a script, a system for your own life. Tell us in a few sentences what it does, what it replaced, and what you would fix about it.
That is the whole application. We read every one.
