Position Overview
An Ottawa-based professional services organization is seeking a Finance & Accounting Manager to lead core accounting functions and support broader financial operations. This hybrid role offers a balance of remote and in-office work. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, attention to detail, and clear communication skills. A CPA designation is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
- Perform and review bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage monthly close processes, including accruals and supporting schedules
- Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting procedures
- Support audit activities and coordinate with external accountants
- Leverage accounting and CRM systems to improve financial workflows
Qualifications & Experience
- CPA designation preferred. Accounting diploma or equivalent required
- 5–7 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting
- Strong hands-on experience with payroll, A/R, A/P, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Proficiency with QuickBooks required
- Experience with Bullhorn CRM is an asset
- Background in staffing or recruitment industry is an advantage
- Prior experience supervising or mentoring team members preferred
