Job Description
Playing a key role at Coru, the Software Engineer is responsible for developing and evolving the microservices that orchestrate our autonomous conversational agents, integrating language models and vector databases to deliver intelligent, scalable and secure conversational experiences to enterprise clients in regulated industries.
We are looking for a professional with solid hands-on experience in backend development, able to work with technical autonomy on complex integrations (LLMs, messaging channels, cloud infrastructure), while actively collaborating with the Tech Lead, QA and DevOps to ensure quality, performance and reliability in every delivery.
Responsibilities
• Develop microservices in Node.js and TypeScript for the orchestration of autonomous conversational agents.
• Integrate language models such as OpenAI, Gemini or Ollama through frameworks like LangChain.
• Take part in the integration of vector databases (Weaviate, Redis) for semantic search and context management.
• Contribute to building robust APIs connected to channels such as WhatsApp, Messenger and Web.
• Ensure code quality, versioning, documentation and engineering best practices.
• Take part in code reviews and technical sessions led by the Tech Lead.
• Work closely with QA and DevOps to ensure automated deployments and continuous monitoring on AWS.
The role focuses on building scalable microservices, developing conversational integrations with LLM models, and ensuring the technical quality of implementations for clients in regulated industries.
Key factors
• Proactivity and analytical thinking to propose technical solutions.
• Solid experience (mid-level / semi-senior) in backend development with Node.js and TypeScript, including microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience integrating language models (LLMs) — OpenAI, Gemini, Ollama or similar — and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain.
• Knowledge of vector databases (Weaviate, Redis or equivalent) applied to semantic search and conversational context management.
• Experience building and maintaining robust APIs, including integrations with channels such as WhatsApp, Messenger and Web.
• Strong grasp of engineering best practices: version control (Git), technical documentation, automated testing and code review.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud environments and collaboration with DevOps teams for automated deployments and continuous monitoring.
• Ability to work with technical autonomy while actively participating in code reviews and team technical discussions.
• Portuguese and Spanish, to work closely with Coru's teams and clients across the region.
What could set you apart?
• Prior experience with conversational AI products (chatbots, digital assistants) or no-code/low-code platforms.
• Experience in regulated environments (fintechs, banks, insurers) with a focus on security and compliance.
• Previous experience in startups or environments requiring management of multiple fronts and fast learning.
• Systemic vision of product architecture and scalability.
