Company description

Forgis is building the intelligent layer for manufacturing plants, an orchestration platform that integrates machines across vendors, hardware types, and applications. On top of this, we bring real-time intelligence: digital engineers that learn from data, make decisions, and continuously optimize production, from configuring and validating lines to predicting failures and guiding operators. From one interface, Forgis turns disconnected automation into a unified, adaptive system: the factory's brain.

Electrical Engineer

As an Electrical Engineer at Forgis, you will own the layer where physical machines are described. You will operate at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and real-world industrial problems, designing the electrical architecture of industrial machines and teaching our world model to read the schematics that define them. Every cabinet you draw and every drawing you decode makes the platform understand one more machine.

Responsibilities

• Designing: Produce complex electrical systems and production-ready schematics for industrial machines using EPLAN or an equivalent electrical CAD tool.

• Architecting: Define the electrical architecture of new machines, including power distribution, control cabinets, I/O, drives, sensors, actuators, and safety systems.

• Revamping: Modify existing machines to integrate new sensors, controllers, drives, and other electrical components, adapting the installed architecture rather than redesigning it from scratch.

• Teaching our world model: Read and process electrical schematics to extract the semantic structure of a machine and translate it into representations our world model can consume.

• Advancing: Turn what you learn from real machine documentation into insights for Forgis’ engineers, so the platform gets better at reading the next one on its own.

This role is ideal for you if

• Master’s degree: In electrical engineering, mechatronics, automation, or a related field, from a top university (e.g. AGH Kraków, Politechnika Wrocławska, Politechnika Śląska, Politechnika Warszawska, Politechnika Poznańska, ETH Zurich, TUM).

• EPLAN expertise: Strong hands-on experience creating complex, production-ready electrical schematics in EPLAN Electric P8 or an equivalent electrical CAD tool.

• Industrial electrical design: Proven experience designing electrical systems for industrial machines or production lines, covering power distribution, control cabinets, PLC I/O, drives, sensors, actuators, and safety systems.

• Machine architecture: Deep understanding of how electrical components, drives, sensors, actuators, I/O, and safety systems come together to form an industrial machine — not just how to draw them, but why they are arranged that way.

• Industrial standards and precision: Strong knowledge of electrical and machine safety standards (IEC 60204-1, EN ISO 13849 or equivalent), wiring practices, and control cabinet design, with a high level of attention to detail in engineering documentation.

• Real-world track record: You can demonstrate previous designs through working machines, commissioned cabinets, or technical documentation you produced end to end.

• Cross-border engineering practice: Experience producing electrical documentation for German, Swiss, or Nordic machine builders, and working to their drawing standards and part libraries.

• Language: Our working language is English, and all engineering documentation is produced in English. German is a genuine advantage for reading legacy machine documentation, but is not a requirement.
