Brainbox Consulting Engineering is an Engineering AI company. We help companies that build systems where failure has consequences semiconductor and precision equipment, medical devices, industrial automation, adopt AI safely and get it into production. We deliver onsite in the Netherlands and offshore in India. We are now building our own AI engineering team, and this is one of the roles that builds it.
Why this role exists
We keep meeting the same pattern. A Generative AI prototype works in a notebook, gets a good reaction in a steering meeting, and then stops. It never becomes something an engineering team uses on a Tuesday morning.
Architecture alone does not close that gap. Change management does not either. It takes engineers who can build, integrate and operate the thing. That is this job.
You will work alongside our Gen AI Architect and our AI Change Leads. Architecture, build and adoption sit in one team here, not in three silos.
What you will do
- Turn Generative and Agentic AI prototypes into reliable, production-ready solutions for real engineering workflows
- Prepare and curate AI-ready data, and close quality gaps across databases and knowledge bases
- Build integrations to enterprise systems, engineering tools and knowledge sources using APIs and MCP (Model Context Protocol)
- Create reusable AI components and integration patterns that scale across teams and use cases
- Run AgentOps: evaluation, observability, feedback loops, cost and performance optimisation
- Work with our Gen AI Architect on stack choices, deployment models, LLM selection and technical standards
- Keep implementations aligned to security, privacy, Responsible AI and governance standards
- Own solutions end to end: prototype → production → adoption
What you bring
- Generative or Agentic AI running in production, not only in a demo
- Strong Python, plus data engineering, API and system integration experience in complex environments
- Hands-on across low-code and pro-code AI: Microsoft Copilot Studio, ChatGPT Codex, Claude Cowork, Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock or similar
- Experience in engineering-heavy environments: software, systems or manufacturing
- Based in the Netherlands, or elsewhere in Europe and ready to relocate to the Eindhoven region, with an EU passport or a valid EU/Netherlands work permit. We do not sponsor visas from outside Europe for this role.
Nice to have: familiarity with enterprise AI governance frameworks, and experience in federated or transformation programmes.
