Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering through diagnosis and treatment. This role involves advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN is responsible for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights. The RN fosters a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage a group of patients, serving as a primary or accountable nurse.
- Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management.
- Administer medications safely according to policy.
- Contribute to productivity and effective resource utilization.
- Comply with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in the Nursing Shared Governance Model and improvement initiatives.
- Engage in professional development and continuing education.
- Integrate nursing research and evidence into practice.
- Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
- Adhere to United Health Services Values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills
- 6 months to 3 years of nursing (RN) experience.
- 0 to 3 years of management experience.
- 5+ years of direct experience.
- Collaboration, communication, judgment, critical thinking.
- Organizational understanding, planning, problem-solving.
- Quality, reliability, safety, and risk management.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
Schedule Notes
12 days, 36 hours/week, every other weekend.
Required Certifications
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Apex Innovations)
