Zen Intelligence (Series A) is building Physical AI for construction (zenshot). A worker walks a site with a 360-degree camera, and our AI structures the entire scene automatically. As we scale, the hardware and device side becomes decisive — the capture hardware, sensors, and how they hold up in a real, harsh construction site.
This is a Tokyo-based hybrid role — 3 days/week at our Hatchobori office. It's open to those based in Greater Tokyo or with concrete plans to relocate here, together with real ties to Japan — past residence or work in Japan, business-level Japanese, experience working with Japanese companies or Japan-based teams, or study / extended stay in Japan. Overseas remote is not available. If your track record is exceptional, we're still happy to talk case by case.
We're hiring a hardware / product lead to own the device side end to end.
What you'll own:
・The hardware roadmap: what devices/sensors we build or source, and the spec/vendor decisions.
・The interface between hardware and software — making sure the physical layer feeds the AI reliably.
・0→1 of the device product: from concept and prototyping through to something that survives real sites.
We're looking for:
・A driver who has led hardware 0→1 — as a hardware CTO, hardware PM/product owner, or hardware tech lead who owned the roadmap and shipped devices.
・Fluency across the hardware–software boundary; comfort with real-world, harsh-environment constraints.
・Bonus: construction / manufacturing / IoT devices / sensors / robotics / new-venture (0→1) background.
