Founding Engineer

Makeable is selecting a small group of Singapore-based founding engineers for an in-person San Francisco builder residency. This is a full-time, hands-on opportunity for unusually strong builders who want to live and build closely with a small founding team. Selected participants will relocate to San Francisco for the residency. We cover paid flights, food, reasonable living expenses, and housing in a 2,000+ sq ft hackerhouse in the heart of San Francisco. We want people who have shipped something meaningful and can operate with high ownership. Your strongest craft may be full-stack or backend engineering, AI product development, embedded software or firmware, electronics and electrical engineering, mechanical design, CAD and 3D prototyping, or 3D animation and interactive product experiences. You do not need to be an expert in every area. We value depth in one discipline, curiosity across the rest, and the ability to contribute ideas while an early startup changes direction quickly. You must be at least 18 by October and currently based in Singapore. Evidence of what you have built matters more than a perfect résumé. No CV is needed: use your application to share your GitHub, portfolio, prototypes, products, reel, CAD work, or other work you are proud of. Exceptional participants may be considered for a paid founding role with equity after the residency, subject to fit, final agreements, and applicable work authorization.
