Role Description The PR and Social Media Specialist is a fully remote role. This role is responsible for planning and executing public relations and social media strategies that raise awareness of WeDecide’s mission and products. Day-to-day tasks include drafting press releases, developing media pitches, managing relationships with journalists, and coordinating interviews and briefings. The specialist will create and schedule social media content, monitor engagement, and optimize campaigns across platforms. Additional responsibilities include supporting strategic communications initiatives, preparing talking points, maintaining consistent brand messaging, tracking relevant news and policy trends, and reporting on PR and social media performance.
Qualifications
- Strong public relations skills, including experience with press releases and media relations.
- Proficiency in communication and strategic communications, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
- Experience managing social media channels, content calendars, and engagement analytics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; German language skills are an advantage.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with media, partners, and community stakeholders.
- Knowledge of civic engagement, public policy, or GovTech is beneficial.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment and collaborating in a small, mission-driven team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Political Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
