Job Title: Sr. SRE Engineer
Location: Mexico (Remote)
Mandatory requirements: GCP, hands-on TypeScript/Node.js application engineering, and a strong SRE/product reliability mindset.
- We are looking for an SRE with software engineering depth, not primarily a DevOps or Platform Engineer.
- GCP is mandatory. Look for recent hands-on production experience, not just GCP certification or GCP listed under skills.
- Look for actual TypeScript/Node.js application development and source-code changes, not just scripting, CI/CD, or technology keywords.
- Look for evidence of SLIs/SLOs, observability, reliability ownership, incident response, resilience, toil reduction, and customer/product impact.
- Strong resumes should show what the candidate personally implemented, instrumented, diagnosed, coded, automated, or improved, ideally with measurable results.
- Be cautious of profiles dominated by CI/CD, Terraform, Kubernetes, cloud provisioning, migrations, release engineering, or developer platforms. These are valuable skills but alone do not demonstrate SRE/product mindset.
- Kubernetes/GKE is good to have, not mandatory.
- If the resume appears close but SRE depth is unclear, get responses to these five questions before forwarding the candidate.
