Role Description The Line Cook is a full-time, on-site role based at GameTime Social in Vaughan, ON. In this position, the Line Cook prepares and cooks menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines, ensuring food quality, portion control, and consistency. Daily tasks include setting up and stocking workstations, handling food prep, operating kitchen equipment safely, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the shift. The Line Cook works closely with other kitchen and front-of-house team members to support smooth service, manage ticket times, and respond to changing volume during peak periods. This role may also assist with inventory rotation, receiving deliveries, and following health and safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
- Experience as a line cook or in a similar back-of-house role in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment operation.
- Understanding of food safety, sanitization practices, and local health regulations.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
- Ability to follow recipes, portion guidelines, and plating standards with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry supplies, and work in a warm environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; culinary training or certification is an asset.
