AI Product Experience Designer (Project-Based, 3 Months) — Mintrix AI
Location: Candidates from Varanasi or Delhi NCR are preferred
About Mintrix AI
Mintrix AI is building institutional intelligence infrastructure for Indian K-12 private schools — not a school ERP, not a dashboard, not a chatbot. The product detects what matters inside a school (attendance patterns, academic anomalies, compliance deadlines), surfaces it to the right person at the right moment, and requires explicit human approval before any consequential action — a parent message, a compliance filing, an admission decision — actually executes. We are bootstrapped, pre-seed, and live at our first pilot school in Varanasi.
About the Role
We are looking for a designer to help invent the interaction model for an AI-native institutional product used by people who have largely never encountered an AI product before — school principals, class teachers, mentors, and parents. There is no existing template for this. The core design challenge: how does AI-generated intelligence feel trustworthy, honest, and actionable to a professionally experienced but AI-unfamiliar user making real institutional decisions?
This is not execution work. You will co-design the product directly with the founding team, and your decisions will be in the product used at real schools.
What You Will Work On
- Designing interaction patterns for AI-assisted workflows, recommendations, approvals, and decision-making experiences.
- Creating user journeys, information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready designs for complex multi-role products.
- Defining how AI-generated information is presented, reviewed, and acted upon by users.
- Designing adaptive experiences that present relevant information based on user context, responsibilities, and goals.
- Building and evolving design systems, interaction standards, and reusable product patterns in Figma.
- Collaborating closely with founders and engineers to turn ambiguous product problems into intuitive user experiences.
What We're Looking For
- Experience designing complex SaaS, workflow, productivity, AI, or enterprise products.
- Strong systems thinking and the ability to design complete workflows rather than isolated screens.
- Experience creating user flows, information architecture, interaction models, wireframes, prototypes, and design systems.
- Familiarity with AI-native products such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Cursor, Linear, NotebookLM, or similar products.
- Ability to explain design decisions using user needs, product goals, and business outcomes.
- A portfolio demonstrating product thinking, workflow design, and problem-solving, not just visual polish.
What This Is Not
We are not looking for someone to design a school ERP, a reporting dashboard, or a chatbot interface. A beautiful dashboard with AI features bolted on is the wrong answer for this product.
Engagement Details
Type: Project-based, 3 months(Contractual basis, can be extended after accomplishing the set milestone)
Location: Remote, India-friendly working hours
Compensation: A project fee in the range of ₹1,20,000 to ₹1,50,000 for the engagement, with the final amount to be mutually agreed upon and confirmed prior to the commencement of the engagement.
Process
This role does not use a standard resume-screen-interview funnel. After an initial conversation, shortlisted candidates receive a one-week, unpaid, scenario-based design assessment — sent only to a small number of people, and only when we are seriously considering the engagement. Full details of the assessment, including why it is unpaid and what makes it fair, are shared directly with candidates who reach that stage.
How to Apply
Email at [email protected] with the subject line "Designer — [Your Name]."
Include a portfolio link, resume and your LinkedIn profile. Most importantly, please share at least one significant project that is similar in complexity, product thinking, or AI-driven experience design to the work described above. We respond to every application within two working days.
