Cloud FinOps Analyst (Multi-Cloud & GenAI Infrastructure) -

Location: Hybrid

Role Type: Full-Time

Only CVs in English will be considered

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on, highly analytical Cloud FinOps Analyst to establish deep financial visibility, control, and efficiency across our multi-cloud and modern AI infrastructure.

In this role, you will sit at the intersection of Engineering, Finance, and Executive Leadership. You will bring rigorous financial discipline and data-driven insights to our infrastructure spend across AWS, GCP, OpenAI, and Anthropic.

We aren't just looking for someone who monitors high-level UI dashboards. We need an analyst who can roll up their sleeves, write complex SQL queries against raw billing data, run quantitative root-cause analyses on spend anomalies, and partner directly with engineering teams to execute technical cost-optimization strategies.

Key Responsibilities

- End-to-End Spend Visibility: Build executive dashboards and granularity reports across AWS, GCP, OpenAI, and Anthropic, tracking key metrics like amortized spend, forecast accuracy, unit costs, and token usage.

- Structured Anomaly & Variance Root-Cause Analysis: Quantify and investigate budget variances. Methodically isolate drivers by slicing raw billing data by Cloud Provider.

- Deep Infrastructure Optimization: Partner with DevOps and Engineering to evaluate technical efficiency—moving beyond basic off-hour schedules to rightsizing utilization metrics (vCPU/Memory), storage lifecycle tiering, Spot instances, and container cost allocation (EKS/GKE).

- Commitment Strategy Management: Evaluate, purchase, and manage commitment-based discounts (AWS Savings Plans/Reserved Instances, GCP CUDs) to maximize discount coverage while maintaining flexibility.

- GenAI & Token Cost Governance: Track unit economics (cost per prompt/token, custom GPU cluster utilization) and partner with AI engineers to set usage quotas, rate limits, and governance.

- Cross-Functional Reconciliation: Bridge the gap between Finance and Engineering by reconciling accounting discrepancies (amortization, tax, out-of-cycle charges, billing cycle cutoff dates) using AWS Cost & Usage Reports (CUR) as the single source of truth.

Key Requirements

- 4+ years of hands-on experience in Cloud FinOps, Cloud Cost Engineering, or Technical Financial Analysis in multi-cloud environments.

- Hands-On SQL Capability: Proven ability to query billing datasets using aggregations (GROUP BY), window functions (PARTITION BY, dynamic rolling averages), and deduplication logic. (Note: Hands-on SQL is evaluated in our interview process).

- Cloud & Pricing Mechanics: In-depth technical knowledge of AWS/GCP services and pricing trade-offs between On-Demand, Savings Plans, RIs, and CUDs.

- Quantitative Problem-Solving: Ability to structure investigation frameworks for unexpected cost spikes rather than relying on high-level theoretical assumptions.

- Stakeholder Alignment: Strong communication skills to clearly articulate engineering trade-offs to Finance, and financial realities to Engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- FinOps Certified Practitioner (FCP) or AWS/GCP technical certifications.

- Hands-on experience tracking spend, token metrics, and custom GPU infrastructure for GenAI platforms (OpenAI, Anthropic, Bedrock, Vertex AI).

- Experience automating billing reconciliation or data pipelines using Python or advanced data modeling.

What We Value

- Total Ownership: You don't just flag a spend increase—you quantify it, isolate the root cause, propose an engineering fix, and track the realized savings.

- Technical Depth: You understand the difference between high-level dashboard summaries and underlying resource usage metrics.

- Bridge Building: You foster a culture of cost accountability and education across engineering teams without hindering innovation or development velocity.

What We Look For

• Strong sense of ownership — takes end-to-end responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks.

• Self-motivated and proactive; able to operate independently with minimal supervision.

• A good team player who collaborates effectively across teams, geographies, and time zones.

• Proven track record of delivering measurable results in previous roles.
