We are looking for a Project Support intern to join our small team as we manage an engagement for a German infrastructure client. This project involves building the internal systems that handle their asset tracking and maintenance logs. In this role, you will help coordinate tasks between our developers and the client, ensuring that information flows smoothly and that our project documentation remains accurate. This is a fully remote position that offers a clear look into how professional software projects are delivered from start to finish.
About Pixel Systems
Pixel Systems is a remote software agency that builds the tools businesses actually use. We do not build flashy consumer apps or marketing sites. Instead, we focus on practical systems like admin panels, CRM integrations, and database migrations. Our clients come to us when they need to replace a spreadsheet with a real database or get their different software tools to communicate with each other. We believe that working code is better than a perfect plan that never ships. We provide fixed quotes, conduct weekly demos, and hand over all code and documentation when we finish a project. We use reliable technologies like Node, React, and Postgres because we want the software we build to be stable and easy for our clients to maintain.
The Role
In this role, you will assist our lead developers in managing the coordination for the German infrastructure project. This client is modernizing how they track physical assets, moving away from fragmented legacy systems into a unified database. You will help bridge the gap between technical requirements and project milestones. This means you will be checking that the features we build match the initial project scope and helping the team stay on track for our weekly demos. Because this is a fully remote role, you will also play a part in keeping our digital documentation organized so that everyone on the team knows the current status of each task. Your work will include:
- Updating task boards to reflect the current status of development work.
- Assisting with the preparation of materials for weekly client demonstrations.
- Drafting clear summaries of technical progress for non-technical client contacts.
- Helping developers document new features or system integrations.
- Creating walkthrough videos or simple guides for the tools we build.
- Monitoring project timelines to ensure we stay within our agreed scope.
- Verifying that basic user requirements are met before we show work to the client.
What You Bring
We are looking for an intern who is organized and enjoys putting things in order. You do not need to be a project management expert, but you should be the kind of person who likes to check items off a list and keep others informed. We value clarity and reliability over complex management theories.
- A clear and direct communication style for both writing and speaking.
- Strong organizational habits and a high level of attention to detail.
- The ability to summarize technical updates for people who do not write code.
- A reliable approach to managing your own time and tasks in a remote setting.
- Basic familiarity with how software projects are structured and delivered.
- Comfort working in a remote environment using digital communication tools.
Helpful Background
While we will train you on our specific processes, it is helpful if you have a basic understanding of how software is built. Any familiarity with the following tools or concepts will be useful in this role:
- Experience using task tracking tools like Trello, Linear, or Jira.
- Basic knowledge of web technologies like React, Node, or Postgres.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and organizing large amounts of information.
- Previous experience in a customer service or administrative support role.
- An interest in how infrastructure and utility companies use software.
- Comfort with writing simple documentation, user guides, or status reports.
Working at Pixel Systems
Working here is different from a typical corporate internship. We have a small team with no layers of middle management, meaning you will work directly with our senior engineers and founders. We value a calm environment where people can focus on their tasks without constant interruptions. This position is 100 percent remote, giving you the flexibility to work from wherever you are most productive. This is a full-time, paid internship, and the pay is competitive for the current market. You will gain practical experience by seeing exactly how software projects are delivered to real-world clients in the infrastructure sector.
At Pixel Systems, we believe in doing honest work for fair pay. We are a small group that values technical excellence and straightforward communication. We want our interns to finish their time with us having a clear understanding of how professional software services operate. If you enjoy solving practical problems and prefer a clear work culture over a high-pressure corporate environment, you will find our team to be a good fit.
