Role Overview
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and delivering Assigned Certifier services across commercial, residential, industrial and public-sector projects.
Working closely with clients, architects, contractors, design teams and other consultants, you will oversee compliance and certification throughout the project lifecycle in accordance with the Building Control Regulations and Building Control (Amendment) Regulations (BC(A)R).

Key Responsibilities
- Act as Assigned Certifier in accordance with the Building Control Regulations and BC(A)R.
- Develop and manage project inspection and certification plans.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, architects, design teams and other stakeholders.
- Review design and construction documentation for Building Regulations compliance.
- Carry out and coordinate site inspections at appropriate stages.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, observations, photographs and certification documentation.
- Review inspection reports, ancillary certificates and supporting documentation.
- Identify and monitor the resolution of compliance issues.
- Coordinate with the Design Certifier and wider project team to ensure effective compliance management.
- Assist with BCMS documentation and statutory submissions.
- Manage the certification process through to completion and submission of required documentation.
- Provide technical advice on compliance matters to clients and project teams.
- Liaise with Building Control Authorities and other statutory bodies where required.
- Contribute to the development of company procedures, templates and quality management systems.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in engineering, architecture, building surveying, construction or a related discipline.
- Demonstrable construction industry experience, preferably within a consultancy environment.
- Previous Assigned Certifier experience or significant BC(A)R compliance experience.
- Strong knowledge of Irish Building Regulations, BC(A)R and associated Technical Guidance Documents.
- Good understanding of construction methods, building services and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection and documentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Full Irish/European driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
Desirable
- Experience across commercial, residential, industrial or public-sector projects.
- Relevant professional accreditation or Chartered status.
- Experience with BCMS and statutory online submissions.
- Experience preparing or reviewing inspection plans, ancillary certificates and completion documentation.
- Knowledge of construction health and safety requirements.
- Experience within a multidisciplinary engineering or professional consultancy.
