About The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to help build and evolve internal platform capabilities that enable engineering teams to deliver software more efficiently, securely, and reliably.
This role combines Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, Kubernetes, and Software Engineering. You will work closely with engineering teams across the organization, helping them adopt new operational practices, improve developer workflows, and reduce the complexity of managing infrastructure.
The ideal candidate is highly hands-on, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to take ownership from design through production. You should enjoy solving problems independently while collaborating closely with engineering and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain internal platform capabilities that reduce the operational burden on product engineering teams.
- Partner closely with engineering teams to evaluate and implement changes with consideration for their impact across products and users.
- Support engineering teams adopting new operational practices, tools, and platform capabilities.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and operational issues and help teams find sustainable solutions.
- Design and maintain secure cloud foundations, including IAM, secrets management, network controls, and compliance guardrails.
- Take full ownership of projects and initiatives from design and implementation through production.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD.
- Work extensively with AWS, Kubernetes, EKS, Docker, and cloud networking.
- Use Python to automate processes and build tooling that improves platform efficiency.
- Leverage modern AI-powered development tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot to increase productivity.
- Identify blockers proactively and resolve them independently.
- Favor iterative delivery by shipping smaller, incremental improvements over large, high-risk releases.
- Give and receive candid, constructive feedback and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.
- Help define processes and best practices in areas where established approaches may not yet exist.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional experience in Platform Engineering or DevOps.
- 4+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS, particularly AWS Organizations, account management, and IAM.
- Deep hands-on experience with Amazon EKS and Docker-based containerization.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts.
- Proven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, particularly Terraform.
- Experience building and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in Python programming and automation.
- Experience with cloud security fundamentals, including IAM, secrets management, network controls, and compliance.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and operate effectively in an ambiguous environment.
Nice To Have Skills
- Experience with Datadog for monitoring and observability.
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with Artifactory or other artifact management platforms.
- Experience supporting multiple engineering teams through internal platform capabilities.
- Experience using AI-powered development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools.
- Experience establishing platform engineering practices and processes from scratch.
