5 - 10 years of experience of hands-on software engineering experience.
Work experience
- Experience at a VC-backed startup or big tech company with a strong engineering culture.
- Experience as a founder, founding engineer, or head of engineering.
- Fintech, payments, or financial data experience (neobanks, payment infra, financial API integrations).
Education
CS degree or equivalent technical field, preferably from a top CS Program.
Hard skills
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Next.js.
- Active experience using AI tools (e.g. Claude Code, Codex, etc.) in their engineering workflow.
- Full-stack capability, leaning 60% frontend / 40% backend.
- Financial API or integration experience.
Soft skills
- Highly autonomous — works without hand-holding or specs.
- Genuine curiosity about Synthetic's mission and product.
Miscellaneous
Based in SF or willing to relocate (6 days/week)
