Bloomsbury Education is looking for an enthusiastic, well-organised Assistant Editor with at least two years’ editorial experience to join our small dynamic team publishing exciting books for teachers, parents and children. The list includes teaching resources, professional development titles and home learning.
Reporting to the Head of Education and working closely with the editorial team this role offers the opportunity to progress your editorial skills and manage individual book projects from commission to publication, as well as assisting and supporting the commissioning team and senior editors as required.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Organised, confident and a good communicator
- Excellent knowledge of the English language, high standards of accuracy and a keen eye for detail
- Strong organisational skills and a rigorous, self-motivated approach to briefing, meeting deadlines and managing schedules and budgets
- Able to prioritise and manage time effectively
- Awareness of print procedures and printing needs
- Awareness of cost limitations and profitability of a project
- Demonstrable experience/knowledge of education publishing

Salary: £28,000 - £30,300 per annum

Hybrid-working: 2 days per week: Mondays and Tuesdays
