Software Engineer II (SE-II, 3+ years)
Job Description
Your role will include designing, developing and reviewing features and tasks across the web and API surfaces to ensure effective execution of work; contributing to end-to-end development of processes and projects for both internal and external clients with responsibility for timely and accurate delivery; following clear instructions and directions on tasks to be performed and, in turn, issuing clear guidance to junior colleagues where needed; and supporting peers to aid their skill development, professional growth, and overall success.
Your role will include overseeing, supervising and reviewing tasks performed by team members to ensure effective execution of work; managing end-to-end processes and projects for both internal and external clients with responsibility for timely and accurate delivery; issuing clear instructions and directions to team members on tasks to be performed; and mentoring and guiding junior colleagues to Support their skill development, professional growth, and overall success.
Qualifications
- Desirable Competencies:
- Exposure to microservice/monolith architecture, dependency injection, and event-driven patterns (Pub/Sub, job queues) and a basic understanding of secure coding concepts (input validation, authN/authZ, OWASP-style checks)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Cloud Build) and reading pipeline/build reports
- Comfortable working with Docker and cloud service dependencies (MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch) used in local and CI environments
- Interact with different functions — product, design, and platform/DevOps teams — to resolve system-level issues
- Interact with local and global teams in resolving issues
- Willingness to work on POCs and technology research efforts that result in prototypes for concept evaluation
- Working knowledge of Agile tools (e.g., Jira) and version control (Git/GitHub)
Responsibilities
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Around 3 years of software development experience required as below:
- Essential Competencies:
- Competent in building, integrating and shipping features across the full stack — the React 18 / AngularJS web client and the Node.js/TypeScript Express backend
- Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks (React, Node.js/Express), writing clean, maintainable, well-tested code
- Must have solid expertise developing web-based applications and RESTful/GraphQL APIs, and consuming them from the client (React Query / Apollo)
- Experience with relational and NoSQL data stores (MongoDB/Mongoose, Postgres/Prisma) and caching (Redis), including writing efficient queries and data models
- Write and maintain automated tests (Mocha/ts-mocha for the API, Vitest + Testing Library for the web) and participate in code reviews
- Work closely with the agile development team on assigned projects and help deliver quality software within sprint timelines
- Contributes ideas on product and process improvements
- Experience working in an agile environment and methods (sprints, stand-ups, backlog grooming)
- Flexible working across frontend and backend tasks based on business needs
