Technical/Data Business Analyst (Daily rate contract, 12 months)
Talent Insights are engaged with a leading Federal Government Client to secure a Technical/Data Business Analyst.
This is an initial 12 Month Contract (+12 Month Extension), working on a data & analytics transformation.

- $900-1000 per day + Super (depending on experience and suitability to the role)
Job Description
We're working with a federal government client looking for a Data Business Analyst to join a growing Data & Analytics transformation program.
This is a senior, hands-on role working across business and technical teams to shape requirements and solution design for a large-scale data and analytics uplift.
The Role
You'll work closely with business stakeholders, architects and delivery teams to:
- Lead the development of business and technical requirements across the program
- Develop and maintain traceability frameworks linking deliverables to business outcomes
- Elicit, analyse and document business requirements, data flows and process models (current and future state)
- Translate business needs into technical specifications and solution designs
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops, meetings and working groups
- Review solution designs to ensure alignment with requirements and expected outcomes
- Provide input into the design and implementation of data and analytics solutions
- Collaborate across business, technical and vendor teams to deliver integrated outcomes
About You
You'll ideally have:
- Demonstrated expertise leading business and technical requirements within large-scale data and analytics programs
- Experience implementing cloud data platforms and/or analytics solutions, including data architecture (data models, ETL, governance, security)
- Proven ability to document complex data flows and business processes
- Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Practical experience in Agile delivery environments, including epics, user stories and backlog management
- Multi-vendor delivery experience and Scrum Master exposure also highly regarded
- SAS Viya or similar analytics platform experience is desirable
- SQL, Python or similar tooling is a bonus
Candidates can be based in QLD, ACT, VIC or NSW and must be Australian Citizens, with the ability to obtain a Baseline security clearance.
