About the Role
A dynamic fintech company within a well-established digital group is building the future of mobile banking, and they’re looking for a (Junior) PHP Backend Developer to join their growing team. Location: Frankfurt, Germany - on-site
Type of contract: permanent, full-time
Main Tasks:
- Develop new features for fast-growing digital products using modern web technologies
- Maintain and expand the system architecture across frontend, backend, databases, caches, and APIs (e.g., comparison interfaces, result pages, finalization flows, REST APIs)
- Optimize and scale the platform in a service-oriented architecture
- Maintain code quality through daily code reviews and automated testing
Requirements
- Solid programming skills in at least one language, with a strong interest in software development
- Proven experience in PHP development; experience with modern PHP frameworks (e.g., Symfony or Laravel) is a plus
- Confident working with relational databases, Git, Docker, and in a Linux shell environment
- Experience with AI-based development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude, Gemini, Windsurf) is a bonus
- Strong attention to detail and a structured, quality-driven approach to work
- Fluent in both German and English, written and spoken
