About The Role
neospaces is a new kind of commercial real estate brokerage. Proprietary technology. Personal dedication. Nationwide reach. For brands that want the perfect location — and owners looking for the perfect tenant. Commercial real estate data is messy: exposés as PDFs, listings in inconsistent formats, tenant requirements written in prose. Turning that into something structured, queryable, and trustworthy is the hard part — and it's where our advantage lives. We're looking for a Backend Engineer who builds the systems underneath: data models, pipelines, APIs, and background workflows that stay correct as volume grows.
Responsibilities
- Design and evolve the data model behind properties, tenants, mandates, and matching
- Build APIs and services that the product and our integrations run on
- Own our ingestion and enrichment pipelines: structured extraction from unstructured sources
- Build reliable background and event-driven workflows with Inngest
- Integrate third-party systems: CRM, market data providers, internal tooling
- Keep it correct and fast: query performance, indexing, data integrity, observability
- Define backend standards — testing, deployment, monitoring — as the team grows
Requirements
- Production backend experience with TypeScript/Node or a comparable modern stack
- Strong SQL and relational data modeling — Postgres ideally
- Experience with APIs, background jobs, queues, or event-driven architecture
- You care about correctness and can reason about failure modes before they happen
- Comfort owning a service end-to-end, from schema to monitoring
- Bonus: Supabase, Inngest, vector databases, or large-scale ETL/data pipelines
- Bonus: LLM-based extraction from unstructured documents
- Open to strong Entry and Junior candidates who can show real shipped work
- Business-fluent English; German a plus, not required
