A rapidly growing Series D FinTech focused on improving financial wellness for underserved consumers is seeking a Regulatory Compliance & Associate Counsel to join its legal and compliance team in Midtown Manhattan (3 days/week onsite).
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to make a meaningful impact in a high-growth fintech environment. You'll work cross-functionally with legal, engineering, operations, product, and marketing teams, helping shape compliance strategy, support new product launches, and navigate the evolving regulatory landscape surrounding consumer lending.
What You'll Do:
• Provide legal and regulatory guidance on consumer financial services laws, including TILA, ECOA, FCRA, UDAAP, SCRA, FDCPA, and BSA
• Support regulatory examinations, audits, and inquiries while coordinating responses with internal teams
• Partner with outside counsel to manage arbitration, litigation, and regulatory enforcement matters
• Review marketing materials, disclosures, and customer communications to ensure regulatory compliance
• Support new product launches and business initiatives by providing practical legal and compliance guidance
• Assist with the development and enhancement of compliance policies, procedures, and training programs
• Monitor regulatory and legislative developments impacting consumer lending and communicate business implications
Required Background:
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
• 2-4 years of experience within a FinTech, bank, online lender, credit card company, or law firm
• Strong knowledge of consumer financial regulations, including TILA, ECOA, FCRA, UDAAP, SCRA, FDCPA, and BSA
• Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and rapidly evolving environment
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
