Position: AI Rater Guidelines Writer
Type: Contingent Role
Compensation: $45-$65 per hour
Location: United States
Commitment: 10-40 hrs/week
Role Responsibilities
- Guide research and program teams to close the gap between ambiguous program requirements and rater-ready instructions.
- Design clear, non-contradictory rating guidelines and rubrics for consistent application by raters.
- Evaluate and revise draft guidelines for ambiguity, internal contradiction, and coverage gaps.
- Translate program specifications into precise, discipline-specific rater instructions.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and program leads to ensure consistency and accuracy across guideline sets.
Requirements
- Have strong relevant experience in linguistics, instructional design, or technical writing.
- Demonstrated ability to work across multiple subject-matter domains and translate domain-specific nuance into clear instructions.
- Strong track record of resolving ambiguity and contradiction in written specifications.
- Demonstrable career progression.
- Ability to engage reliably for at least 35 hours/week during weekdays.
