ポジション概要
日本およびAPACで成長を続けるTechnology Sectorにおいて、データセンターを中心としたテクノロジープロジェクトに携わる機械設備エンジニアを募集します。
Japan Technology Sector Leadのもと、Technology Teamの一員として、機械設備設計、エンジニアリングおよびコンサルティング業務を担当していただきます。
日本国内およびAPACのエンジニアと連携しながら、構想初期から詳細設計、施工支援までプロジェクトに参画し、データセンタープロジェクトを通じて専門性を高められるポジションです。
経験やスキルに応じて担当パッケージのリードを担いながら、より高度な技術力やプロジェクトマネジメント経験を積むことができます。

主な業務内容
- テクノロジーおよびデータセンタープロジェクトにおける機械設備設計・エンジニアリング・コンサルティング業務の遂行
- 構想初期から詳細設計、施工支援まで、テクノロジー分野の建築プロジェクト（特にデータセンター）における機械設備の担当パッケージの遂行
- 経験に応じて、担当パッケージのリードまたは大規模プロジェクトにおける分野リードのサポート
- 日本の法規および関連する国際基準に基づく設計計算、仕様書、図面および技術報告書の作成
- 建築、構造、電気、消防設備、サステナビリティおよびその他関連分野の専門家との調整・協働
- クライアント、官公庁、施工者等の社外ステークホルダーとの調整
- 各種申請、行政協議および設計・施工段階における技術的な質疑への対応
- 現場確認、技術レビューおよびデザイン監査への参加
- 品質、コストおよびスケジュール目標の達成に向けたプロジェクト計画、リソース管理および工程管理への貢献
- 日本およびAPACのチームと連携したプロジェクトの推進
応募資格
必須経験
- 日本における建築設備分野での3年以上の実務経験
- 日本の建築設備関連法規、基準および承認プロセスに関する基本的な理解
- 建築、工学または関連分野における学士号以上
- 日本語ネイティブレベル
歓迎経験・資格
- データセンターまたはテクノロジー関連プロジェクトへの参画経験
- 以下のいずれかの資格保有：一級建築士、設備設計一級建築士、技術士、建築設備士、または同等の海外資格
- 多分野の専門家で構成されるチームとの協働経験
- 海外オフィスや地域チームとの協働に関心がある方
- 英語を使用したコミュニケーションに前向きに取り組める方（英語力よりも、学ぶ意欲やコミュニケーションへの前向きな姿勢を重視します）

Position Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join Arup's growing Technology Sector in Japan and APAC.
As a member of the Technology Team, specialising in data centre projects, you will contribute to the delivery of mechanical engineering, design and consulting services for technology and data centre projects. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams in Japan and APAC, you will support the successful delivery of projects for global clients while developing your technical expertise within a growing sector.
Reporting to the Japan Technology Sector Lead, you will be involved in projects from early-stage concept design through to detailed design and construction support. You will contribute to mechanical engineering solutions while working alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists.
Depending on your experience and development, you may have opportunities to lead defined work packages or support discipline leads on larger and more complex projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver mechanical engineering design, consulting and technical support for technology and data centre projects.
- Deliver and, where appropriate, lead defined mechanical engineering packages for technology building projects, particularly data centres, from concept design through to detailed design and construction support.
- Prepare mechanical design calculations, specifications, drawings and technical reports in accordance with Japanese regulations and relevant international standards.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including Structural, Architectural, Electrical, Fire, Sustainability and other engineering disciplines.
- Liaise with clients, authorities, contractors and other external stakeholders.
- Support statutory submissions, authority approvals and respond to technical queries during design and construction phases.
- Participate in site inspections, technical reviews and design audits as required.
- Contribute to project planning, resource management and programme delivery to achieve quality, cost and schedule objectives.
- Collaborate with Japan and APAC teams to support the successful delivery of technology and data centre projects.
- Depending on experience, lead defined work packages or support discipline leads on larger and more complex projects.
Requirements
Required Experience
- 3+ years of experience in building services engineering within the Japanese market
- Basic understanding of Japanese building services regulations, codes of practice and approval procedures
- Bachelor's degree or above in Architecture, Engineering or a related discipline
- Native-level Japanese language proficiency
- Preferred Experience & Qualifications
- Experience working on data centre or technology sector projects
- One or more of the following qualifications: First-Class Architect, First-Class Equipment Design Architect, Professional Engineer Japan, Building Services Engineer, or equivalent international professional qualifications
- Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Willingness to collaborate proactively with overseas offices
- Willingness to communicate in English. We value a positive attitude towards learning and communication more than perfect English proficiency.
Compensation & Benefits
Expected Annual Salary: JPY 5.7 million to 13 million, commensurate with experience and qualifications, plus Profit Share.
