Role Description This full-time, on-site role in Jacksonville, FL is for Heavy Haul Transportation Specialists who will coordinate and manage heavy haul and specialized transportation projects from planning through delivery. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing shipment requirements, selecting appropriate equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and customer-specific SOPs. The role involves collaborating with drivers, carriers, and customers, monitoring shipments in real time, and proactively addressing delays or issues to maintain service quality and on-time performance. Specialists will use transportation management systems and related tools to track loads, manage documentation, and support capacity planning. The position requires consistent communication, attention to detail, and a strong focus on safety and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Experience in heavy haul, flatbed, or specialized transportation operations, including route planning and equipment selection.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, permitting requirements, and safety standards related to oversize and overweight loads.
- Proficiency with transportation management systems, load tracking tools, and basic office software (e.g., Excel, email, CRM platforms).
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with drivers, carriers, and shippers.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects, prioritize tasks, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail for documentation, load specifications, and compliance with customer-specific SOPs and KPIs.
- Prior experience in logistics, freight brokerage, or trucking industry operations is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in logistics, supply chain, or a related field is beneficial.
- Willingness to work on-site in Jacksonville, FL, with occasional extended hours to support critical or time-sensitive moves.
