Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Shop Assistant / Delivery Driver to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our shop, providing excellent customer service, and assisting with various tasks related to inventory management and logistics. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn the hose and gasket business, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- THIS JOB REQUIRES MANUAL LABOR CUTTING HEAVY LARGE HOSE TO LENGTH AS WELL AS OTHER OCCASIONAL HEAVY LIFTING TASKS.
- Assist customers with inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
- Manage inventory levels by receiving, organizing, and stocking products.
- Operate various equipment including forklifts for moving goods.
- Drive company vehicles for deliveries or pickups as needed.
- Support warehouse operations by assisting with loading and unloading shipments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop area to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks
- Examples of tasks include cutting and building custom hose assemblies as well as assisting with cutting various gasket sheet materials.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or retail environment is preferred.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving history
- operation and safety protocols is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks as required. Ability to get on hands and knees and cut material to length when needed.
- Experience as a van driver or courier is an advantage.
- A positive attitude, reliability, and teamwork spirit are essential for success in this role.
- Must be able to read measuring tape accurately
