Your role
We are currently seeking a Senior Liability Claims Consultant to join our Comcover team.
Comcover is the Australian Government's self-managed insurance program providing insurance and risk management services to Australian Government entities who are part of the Comcover Fund.
As a Senior Liability Claims Consultant, you will be responsible for managing a complex portfolio of General Liability, employment related and other types of interesting and unique claims from across the federal government. You'll work alongside our Liability Claims Team, Team Leaders and client to ensure these Liability claims are managed in an efficient and effective manner while ensuring our strong customer service focus.
The position will be offered on a permanent, full-time basis and we offer a flexible hybrid approach of working in our brand-new Melbourne CBD Office and Working From Home (WFH).
How you'll make an impact
You will add value to Gallagher Bassett across the following:

Managing a portfolio of complex liability claims end to end, from a General Liability perspective

Interpreting public liability and professional indemnity policy wordings and apply accurately

Providing advice to clients on indemnity, liability, quantum, reserving and settlement

Liaising with various third-party providers including solicitors, loss adjusters, brokers and barristers

Settling claims within client service instructions, guidelines and delegated authority

Attending client meetings and mediations, where applicable

Resolving complaints in accordance with applicable guidelines

Identifying potential fraud/recovery indicators for claims, where applicable
About you
We’re interested in hearing from people who possess:
-
Liability Claims experience in public liability and/or professional indemnity Industry specific ANZIIF qualifications (desirable)

Australian Citizenship is essential (to be eligible for this position, our successful candidate must complete a Commonwealth Security Clearance which requires Australian Citizenship)

A legal degree or background is highly advantageous

The desire to learn and progress within this collaborative and talented team.

Well-rounded communication and interpersonal skills

Strong time management and organizational skills, with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
