About the role and team

As a Partner Management Lead, you will front the charge for one of Uber's most critical growth frontiers. You are responsible for a high-stakes portfolio of major merchant accounts across key sectors of the retail industry - specifically those with centralized operations in the local Canadian market across a wide range of product offerings that present unique challenges in their own right. This is a leadership role, sitting on the Canada Commercial leadership team, with responsibility for multiple direct reports. You will bridge the gap between high-level strategy and the granular reality of retail operations to ensure the best possible user experience, merchant collaboration and earner experience on our marketplace.

The environment is fast-paced and demands a high degree of resilience and ownership. You aren't just managing existing accounts; you are participating in the sales strategy for net-new retail giants and navigating the "messy" complexity of unscaled partnerships. You will lead a high-performing team in an atmosphere of radical accountability, where you must pivot from senior external negotiations to solving operational bottlenecks in real-time. If you are energized by the challenge of defining a market and thrive in a culture of excellence and ambiguity, this is where you will grow.

What you'll do

- Define and execute the selection and growth strategy for unscaled key grocery accounts in the market, ensuring long-term financial sustainability.

- Build and nurture deep relationships with strategic partners across their entire lifecycle, acting as a trusted advisor to senior merchant counterparts.

- Lead complex partnership management and key deal renegotiations, balancing partner needs with Uber's commercial objectives.

- Build a high-performing Account Management team through active recruitment, coaching, and fostering a culture of technical and commercial excellence.

- Design and drive innovative growth initiatives from inception to completion, working cross-functionally with Operations, Product, Marketing, and Legal.

- Work across different retails sectors and navigate varying fulfillment models, developing scalable solutions that allow retailers to thrive on our marketplace.

Basic Qualifications

- Minimum 6 years of experience, ideally in the Marketplace space, Strategy Consulting, Account Management, or a related field.

- Experience leading and inspiring high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.

- Proven business acumen and a data-driven mindset with the ability to assess partnership opportunities and drive growth.

- Native or fluent proficiency in the local language and English (both written and oral).

- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience navigating global matrixed organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

- Relevant work experience within the Grocery, CPG, or Retail industries.

- Combined experience in consulting, finance, or operations alongside a commercial/sales-focused role.

- Proven track record of designing and scaling processes to handle rapid growth and operational complexity.

Strong "product sense" and an ability to use insights to optimize partnership performance.
