Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting on residential electrical systems using hand tools, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment.
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, outlets, switches, circuit breakers, and high-voltage electrical components in accordance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately execute wiring projects and renovations.
- Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and clients.
- Conduct inspections of existing electrical systems to identify potential hazards or code violations; recommend appropriate solutions.
- Collaborate with clients to assess their electrical needs during renovation or new construction projects; provide expert guidance on system upgrades or modifications.
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low-voltage systems when necessary for specialized residential applications.
- Maintain detailed records of all work performed, including inspection reports, repair logs, and compliance documentation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an electrician with a strong background in residential service work; industrial or commercial experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and local electrical codes is essential.
- Skilled in electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting electrical systems, reading blueprints and schematics, and performing electrical wiring tasks.
- Experience working with industrial electrical systems, high-voltage wiring, low-voltage circuits, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Ability to operate power tools such as drills, wire strippers, saws, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and hand tools safely and effectively.
- Construction site experience including framing carpentry or handyman skills is advantageous for versatile project support.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures and best practices to prevent accidents or injuries on the job site.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly and implement effective solutions.
- Valid electrician license or certification as required by state law; additional certifications in industrial or commercial electrical systems are preferred.

Pay: $27.47 - $37.00 per hour
