Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our logistics team. Duties
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders using inventory management software and RF scanners
- Prepare outgoing shipments by selecting, packing, labeling, and documenting items accurately in accordance with shipping & receiving procedures
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts (certification preferred), and order pickers to load and unload trucks safely and efficiently
- Maintain accurate inventory records through data entry into warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP platforms like AS400 or similar systems
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries while ensuring compliance with trade regulations and international trade laws when applicable
- Conduct stock counts, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation to ensure stock accuracy within warehouse distribution channels
- Support order fulfillment processes by picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment while adhering to quality standards
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized warehouse environment by stocking shelves, packaging products securely, and managing shipping supplies
- Collaborate with customer service teams to resolve shipment issues promptly and provide updates on order status
Experience
- Proven experience in warehouse operations or logistics roles with a focus on shipping & receiving functions
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, ERP systems (such as AS400), and MRP systems
- Hands-on experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other warehouse equipment (certification preferred)
- Strong understanding of shipping logistics, trade compliance, international trade regulations, and order fulfillment procedures
- Basic math skills for calculating weights, measurements, and quantities accurately
- Excellent data entry skills combined with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation purposes
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
- Customer service orientation with effective communication skills to interact with team members and external partners
