Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment used in manufacturing and industrial environments. Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy-duty vehicles, industrial machinery, and equipment to minimize downtime and extend asset lifespan
- Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using schematics, technical manuals, and analysis skills
- Repair or replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, pumps, and electrical systems with precision and attention to safety standards
- Utilize Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Low Voltage electrical experience to troubleshoot automation systems and control panels
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders, parts inventory, and service history
- Conduct welding, boiler repairs, HVAC maintenance, and other specialized tasks as needed to support industrial operations
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints to facilitate effective repairs and installations
- Collaborate with team members to improve maintenance procedures and ensure compliance with safety regulations
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic in an industrial or manufacturing environment with a strong mechanical background
- Knowledge of industrial electrician practices including low voltage systems, schematics reading, and electrical troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), CMMS software, HVAC systems, welding techniques, boilers, and industrial maintenance procedures
- Strong analytical skills for diagnosing issues quickly and accurately under pressure
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high safety standards
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and collaboration with colleagues
- Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing equipment, conveyors, pumps, motors, and control systems
