Pictet Alternative Advisors (PAA) is a leading alternative investment specialist with expertise in hedge funds, private equity and global real estate. The Geneva and London-based team constructs, manages and advises on portfolios of alternative investment solutions for institutional and private clients.
Your role
You will be a senior member of Pictet’s alternatives platform in Asia, acting as a key product and investment expert for our private equity, real estate, hedge fund and broader private markets offering. You will partner closely with senior client‑facing teams to design, position and implement high‑conviction, bespoke alternative investment solutions for sophisticated private and institutional clients across the region.
Client marketing, pitching and portfolio design
- Lead the preparation and delivery of high‑impact pitches and marketing materials for alternative investment opportunities (new funds, switch ideas, co‑investments, portfolio solutions).
- Draft clear, compelling client communications on new Private Equity (PE)/ Real Estate (RE)/ Hedge Funds (HF) opportunities, corporate actions and implementation options.
- Take an active role in client meetings (in person and virtually), confidently articulating strategies, structures and portfolio allocations across PE/RE/HFs.
- Build differentiated portfolio proposals, including back tests, simulations and customized presentations for strategic prospects and existing relationships.
Client reporting and reviews
- Prepare high‑quality monthly and quarterly client reports, including fund‑level commentaries, performance and risk analysis, and portfolio review packs.
- Support strategic relationships by co‑leading or joining PWM Relationship Managers (RM)/ Investment Specialists (IS) in review meetings with top‑tier UHNW and institutional clients.
Client queries and mandate management
- Serve as a primary point of contact for mandate‑related queries across booked alternative investment mandates, ensuring timely and high‑quality responses.
- Take ownership of advisory mandates, proactively proposing funds, switches and rebalancing ideas in line with client objectives and house views.
Order taking and execution support
- Coordinate pre‑trade materials in line with the Asia sales process (fund prospectuses, term sheets, risk disclosures), including internal capacity checks and transfers.
- Work with middle office, operations and legal teams to ensure smooth execution, accurate booking and diligent follow‑up of alternative investment transactions.
Internal advisory, platform development and training
- Act as a trusted internal adviser to PWM IS/RM teams, addressing queries on Pictet’s alternative investment offering.
- Collaborate closely with PAA investment teams to stay aligned on pipeline, product features and house views, helping to shape and develop the Asia alternatives platform.
- Deliver presentations and training sessions to RMs and other internal stakeholders, including pre‑client briefings, elevating alternatives expertise across the franchise.
Your profile
- University degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree, CFA, or CAIA qualifications are advantageous
- Over 8 years of relevant experience in alternative investments, including buy side, multi-manager, private banking advisory, or similar roles
- Significant exposure to hedge funds and/or private markets.
- Strong understanding of portfolio construction, performance, and risk metrics for alternative strategies.
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to clients.
- Strong analytical skills, rigor and attention to details.
- Experienced in managing complex structures, documentation, and multi-jurisdictional setups
- Proven team player with a client-focused mindset and high level of integrity.
- Ability to perform well in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and multi-stakeholder environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin,with confident interaction with ultra-high-net-worth, private, and institutional clients across Asia.
