Job Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Temporary Security Operations Center (SOC) Guard and play a vital role in safeguarding our facilities and assets. In this energetic role, you will monitor security systems, conduct surveillance, and respond swiftly to security incidents. Your proactive approach will ensure a secure environment for staff, visitors, and property while supporting loss prevention initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your security skills in a fast-paced setting, with a focus on vigilance, communication, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

- CCTV & System Monitoring: Continuously monitorclosed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, fire alarm panels, intrusion alarms, and card access systems across the property.

- Incident Dispatch & Coordination: Receive inbound calls, dispatch frontline security guards to incidents or service requests, and track guard movements throughout shifts.

- Emergency Response & Communications: Serve as the central hub during site emergencies (e.g., medical, fire, safety threats) by liaising with local emergency services (Police, Fire, EMS) and property management.

- Log Keeping & Incident Reporting: Maintain detailed, accurate, and real-time electronic shift logs, incident reports, equipment sign-out sheets, and daily activity tracking.

- Access Control & Vendor Management: Remotely control doors/gates, manage visitor/contractor check-ins, and issue temporary access credentials per site protocols.

- Customer Service: Provide clear, polite, and professional information via radio, phone, or intercom to internal staff, tenants, and site visitors.

Requirements

- License: Valid Ontario Security Guard License (Required). Certification: Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certification (Required).

- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of security operations, dispatch, or central monitoring station experience strongly preferred.

- Technical Skills: Proficient with computer operating systems, CCTV monitoring software, access control platforms, and radio communication equipment.

- Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written English communication skills for report writing and emergency dispatching.

- Availability: Must be able to work the fixed bi-weekly schedule (5 days on Week 1, 2 days on Week 2), including days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

- Professional Demeanor: Proven ability to stay calm, focused, and decisive under highpressure or emergency situations.

Working Conditions

Indoor control center environment.

Extended periods of sitting and focused screen monitoring.

Pay: $20.00-$21.00 per hour
