The Data Engineer is primarily responsible for the design, development, enhancement, and support of enterprise reporting solutions using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). The role will also support Microsoft SQL Server database development, ETL processes, system integrations, reporting automation, and secure file transfer solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with business users and application teams to deliver operational, management, regulatory, and analytical reports while ensuring data accuracy, report performance, and system reliability.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Convert business requirements into functional and user-friendly reports.
- Develop and optimise report datasets, parameters, subscriptions, and report scheduling.
- Produce operational, management, financial, regulatory, and ad-hoc reports.
- Troubleshoot report performance and optimise data retrieval efficiency.
- Work directly with stakeholders to gather and analyse reporting requirements.
- Ensure report accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery.
- Develop and maintain Microsoft SQL Server database objects including Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, and Triggers.
- Create and optimise T-SQL scripts to support reporting and integration requirements.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
About you
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server technologies.
- Strong hands-on experience in SSRS report development.
- Experience supporting production reporting environments.
- Advanced T-SQL and Stored Procedures knowledge.
- Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and requirement gathering skills.
- Strong report-writing and documentation capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple reporting requests and priorities.
Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
