AI Automation and Web Development Specialist

ABOUT SC TAX
SC Tax Advisers and Accountants is a growing UK chartered accountancy firm with offices in Salisbury and Winchester. We support individuals, owner-managed businesses and growing companies with accounts, tax, payroll, VAT and wider business advice.
We already have automated workflows in place and are now looking for a hands-on specialist to take ownership of them, improve their reliability and build upon them. You will also create new automations and build professional websites for SC Tax and selected clients when required.
This will be our first specialist technology hire in Manila and an important part of building a high-quality, long-term Philippines team.
THE ROLE
This is not a purely theoretical AI role. You will work directly with our UK management team and the staff who use our systems every day. You will be expected to understand existing processes, audit and improve current workflows, build new solutions, test them properly, document them clearly and support the team after launch.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Review, document, maintain and improve our existing automated workflows, including reliability, error handling, monitoring and audit trails.
- Extend current automations and build new workflows for client onboarding, information requests, document collection, task tracking, bookkeeping handoffs and recurring compliance processes.
- Build reliable integrations using n8n, Make, Zapier, APIs, webhooks and AI models.
- Use Claude Code, Lovable and other approved AI-assisted development tools to accelerate prototyping and delivery without compromising security, testing or maintainability.
- Connect CRM systems, email, cloud storage, forms, spreadsheets and accountancy software.
- Create internal AI assistants and structured workflows that help staff draft, classify, extract, review and route information safely.
- Build responsive, polished websites and landing pages for SC Tax and selected clients, from brief through deployment and handover.
- Troubleshoot failures and edge cases, monitor live workflows and continuously improve performance.
- Produce clear technical documentation and explain solutions to non-technical colleagues.
- Protect confidential financial and personal data by following access controls, minimising data use and using only approved tools.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- At least three years of relevant automation, software development, web development or closely related experience.
- A portfolio showing production automations and live websites that you personally helped build.
- Strong experience with at least one automation platform such as n8n, Make or Zapier, plus APIs, webhooks and structured data.
- Hands-on experience with Claude Code and Lovable, or clear evidence of comparable AI-assisted development capability.
- Working knowledge of modern AI tools and APIs, including prompt design, structured outputs, validation, privacy controls and human review.
- Ability to build responsive websites using modern development tools or carefully selected low-code platforms.
- Good judgement about when AI is useful and when a conventional rules-based workflow is safer.
- Excellent written and spoken English, careful attention to detail and confidence working independently with a UK-based team.
- Availability for regular UK working-day overlap. We expect a schedule around 1pm–10pm Philippine time, with reasonable flexibility by agreement.
- A reliable computer, stable internet and a suitable private remote-working environment.
HELPFUL BUT NOT ESSENTIAL
- Experience with Xero, accountancy firms, professional services or regulated businesses.
- Experience with secure client portals, document workflows or CRM systems.
- Knowledge of Git, databases, authentication, cloud deployment and automated testing.
- Experience supporting or mentoring other developers or automation specialists.
WHAT WE OFFER

- A monthly contractor fee of ₱100,000–₱140,000, based on experience and practical assessment performance.
