What We're Looking For:

As a Computer Vision Software Developer II, you will work on Computer Vision projects turning Zebra's core algorithms from prototypes to high-quality product ready code. You will design and implement strategies for optimizing computer vision algorithms for different hardware architectures (e.g. x86, GPU, multi-core ARM CPU, DSP) based on performance, power and size constraints. Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met.

Location- ***Role is required to be onsite in the Montreal, Canada office. (Hybrid- Minimum of 3 days in the office per week).

Responsibilities

- Development of turning prototyped computer vision algorithms into high quality product ready code

- Experimentation and evaluation of algorithms during the prototyping phase

- Design and provide strategies for optimizing computer vision algorithms for different platforms, from high-end PC to smart cameras

- Participate and provide input in project code reviews

- Receive general instructions to routine work, new projects or assignments

- Design and/or review architected modules and software systems supporting new technology or improving capability/performance of existing functionality

- Take responsibility for communicating with different engineers (embedded systems, backend server, computer vision) to continuously improve and optimize implemented algorithms

- Create automated software tests and provide support to trouble shoot software issues when needed

- Documentation of software architecture

Qualifications

Minimum

-
Bachelor or Masters in Computer Engineering/Computer Science (preferably with specialization in computer vision and machine learning)

-
2+ years of work experience

-
Basic understanding of computer vision; key areas of interest include at least 2 of the following: object detection, tracking and recognition, multiple view geometry, OCR detection, camera calibrations, 3D data processing, SfM/SLAM, activity recognition

-
Strong C, C++ and above programming skills

Preferred

-
Experience designing generic, reusable algorithms for large-scale data processing, in computer vision or a comparable domain

-
Parallelized & vectorized computation

-
Interest in applied mathematics, including linear algebra, probability, statistics, and optimization theory

Experience with Python for algorithm prototyping

French language proficiency

GPU programming experience using CUDA or Open CL

Experience in using GenAI development tools

Knowledge in Vision-Language Models (VLMs), Vision Transformers (ViTs) and CNNs

Assurer la communication avec les différents ingénieurs (systèmes embarqués, serveur dorsal, vision par ordinateur) afin d'améliorer et d'optimiser continuellement les algorithmes mis en œuvre

Minimales

Baccalauréat requis ; une maîtrise en génie informatique, en informatique ou dans un domaine connexe (preferablement avec une spécialisation en vision par ordinateur ou apprentissage machine)

Plus de 2 ans d'expérience professionnelle

Compréhension de base de la vision par ordinateur; domaines d'intérêt clés doivent inclure au moins 2 des suivants : détection d'objets, suivi et reconnaissance, géométrie à vues multiples, détection OCR, étalonnage de caméras, traitement de données 3D, SfM/SLAM, reconnaissance d'activités

Pay Range:

$90,960.00 - $136,440.00 Annual

Incentive Compensation:

In addition to base pay, Zebra offers this role the opportunity to earn a performance-based annual cash incentive, at a target equal to 10% of base pay, in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
