Kitchen Manager / Lead Cook
Sequoia Coffee & Kitchen is looking for an experienced, hands-on Kitchen Manager / Lead Cook to help lead our busy daytime kitchen in Three Rivers.
We are looking for someone who is an excellent cook first and foremost, but who also has the experience and confidence to lead a kitchen team, train cooks, maintain consistency, and help us continue developing and improving our menu.
This is a working kitchen leadership position. You will be cooking alongside the team, especially during high-volume service, while helping create the structure and standards that allow the kitchen to run efficiently.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the kitchen during busy breakfast and lunch service
- Cook on the line and step into any station as needed
- Train and develop kitchen staff
- Help develop, test, and implement new menu items
- Create recipes, procedures, and plating standards that can be consistently replicated by the team
- Maintain food quality, portioning, and presentation
- Improve kitchen organization, prep systems, and workflow
- Oversee daily prep and ensure the kitchen is properly stocked for service
- Help manage food waste and food costs
- Maintain strong food safety and sanitation standards
- Communicate effectively with ownership and management
- Help create a calm, organized, and accountable kitchen culture
We’re looking for someone who:
Has several years of professional kitchen experience and previous leadership experience in a high-volume restaurant, café, or similar operation.
You should be comfortable taking ownership of the kitchen while also being willing to jump in and cook. Strong organization, communication, and training skills are essential.
Menu development experience is strongly preferred.

Pay: $23–$26 per hour, depending on experience
Expected hours: 32–40 per week
Schedule: Daytime hours; weekend availability required
