Employment with Mid North Coast LHD requires candidates to hold a valid authority to work in Australia (Aust Work Rights Visa).

What you'll be doing

Practicing and promoting safe, efficient and effective nursing care for people experiencing mental health problems that reflect current National practice standards for mental health, current standards of nursing practices and current Mid North Coast Local Health District policies and procedures.

All nursing positions are expected to be able to work across all components of the mental health service including inpatient and community-based services

About You

You are a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse with current registration through the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality mental health care. Drawing on your clinical knowledge, assessment skills, and experience within mental health services, you provide person-centred, recovery-focused care that supports consumers to achieve the best possible health and wellbeing outcomes.

You are confident in managing complex clinical situations and applying sound clinical judgement to assess risks, identify priorities, and implement appropriate interventions. Your strong problem-solving abilities enable you to respond effectively to changing consumer needs while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.

As an effective communicator, you build positive relationships with consumers, families, carers, and multidisciplinary team members through professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication. You are proficient in the use of clinical information systems and technology, ensuring accurate documentation, continuity of care, and effective collaboration across healthcare teams.

You thrive in collaborative environments and have a proven ability to coordinate and plan comprehensive care within multidisciplinary teams, contributing to outcome-based treatment and recovery planning. Adaptable and resilient, you are committed to meeting the demands of contemporary mental health practice and are flexible in participating in a seven-day rotating roster, including night shifts and public holidays, to support the delivery of continuous, high-quality care.
