Postdoctoral fellow positions are available under the supervision of Dr. Paulino Tallón de Lara, an Assistant Professor at The University of Texas

MD Anderson Cancer Center. This position will be full time in the Department of Cancer Biology.

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to perform hands-on experiments to develop novel mechanism-guided

precision therapeutic strategies to address unmet clinical needs in colorectal cancer, and to understand the role and mechanisms by which

chromosomal instability modifies the tumor immune response. The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct experiments, perform data analysis and

prepare manuscripts in addition to attending lab meetings, journal clubs, and research seminars. The Postdoctoral Fellow's primary research focus is to help the PI merge mechanistic insights with the translational objectives of experimental therapeutics and the accompanying stratifications of genetic biomarkers to address unmet clinical needs in colorectal cancer.

All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The Postdoctoral Fellow will train, learn and study design, data analysis and manuscript writing. By the end of the appointment, the postdoc will learn how to independently develop and execute a project that addresses clinical challenge or knowledge gaps in the field. The fellow will also learn to independently conduct data analysis that drives hypothesis and experimental design.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Individuals with a PhD degree in cancer biology, molecular biology, genetics, immunology, or related fields with less than two years of postdoctoral experience. Experience with rodent studies is required for this role. Individuals with an MD with significant wet lab experience will be also consider. Candidate should have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects. Proven track record of publications, excellent written and oral communication skills are required.

POSITION INFORMATION

MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000. depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
