Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Medical Biller to join our dynamic healthcare finance team. Duties

- Prepare and submit medical claims using Healthquest billing software platform, ensuring compliance with insurance guidelines and regulations.

- Verify patient insurance information and update records accurately in our billing system.

- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through negotiation with insurance companies to expedite payments

- Reconcile accounts receivable by analyzing outstanding balances and resolving discrepancies efficiently

- Maintain detailed records of billing activities, payments received, and adjustments made for audit purposes

- Communicate professionally with patients regarding billing inquiries via phone or email, providing clear explanations of charges and payment options

- Perform data entry tasks related to patient accounts, payments, and insurance details with high accuracy using accounting software .

Requirements

- Proven experience in medical billing or healthcare accounts receivable management with strong knowledge of medical coding and billing procedures

- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft; familiarity with specialized medical billing platforms is a plus

- Strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes within a healthcare setting

- Excellent analysis skills to review account discrepancies, perform account reconciliation, and analyze financial data effectively

- Effective negotiation skills to resolve claim denials and improve collections outcomes

- Exceptional data entry abilities combined with attention to detail for maintaining precise financial records

- Outstanding customer service skills along with professional phone etiquette for communicating with patients and insurance representatives

- Basic math skills necessary for accurate calculations related to billing adjustments and account analysis

- Knowledge of financial services related to healthcare billing processes; familiarity with analysis tools is advantageous
